In
1844, Antoine Chiron established his
mill at Chambery (Savoy).This region belonged at that
time to the Kingdom of Piedmont-Sardinia. In 1860, The
Duchy of Savoy was ceded to France. Linking France and
Italy, the Alps are the birthplace of a true
pasta tradition.
Since becoming ALPINA Savoie, we enlarged our know-how as well
as we kept developing our experience and technologies
to remain at the state-of-the-art of our field.

1918: Soft wheat mill converted to
semolina and pasta plant
1978: Construction of new pasta and
couscous plant at Bissy
1994: Construction of a new durum
wheat mill, the most modern in Europe
1997: Plant and mill both achieve
ISO 9002 accreditation
1998: Expert Agriculture in
durum wheat – successful completion and implementation
of a sustainable agriculture process
2003:
• ALPINA Savoie is created through the merger of Chiron-Moulins de Savoie
and its subsidiary, Alpina
• ISO 9001/2000 certification , guaranteeing consistent
service quality as part of a continuous improvement programme |
